Mark has worked for a large Tier One contract manufacturer (CM), a Tier Two CM, and now represents CMs of many sizes and capabilities in two important industries: electronics and pharmaceuticals (pharmasourcing).     John Fedorjaka is a contributing author and is the owner of Fedcor Design, a product development company with global sourcing relationships and expertise. John has extensive experience in the design of user input devices and in the manufacturing process of not only input devices but of many other manufactured products as well.     Jimmy Sheffield is a contributing author and is the president and founder of Level 3 Systems. Jimmy graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1988.  Prior to starting Level 3 Systems, LLC, he has 20 years of electronics packaging experience include time working with AMP, Tyco, and Newport Enterprises.  He has worked on products ranging from board-level design through multi-cabinet telecommunications equipment, and has designed products for industries including aerospace, commercial, communications and networking, military, medical, and industrial controls.  Fifteen of those years were spent in managing various engineering groups, including combinations of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.  Jimmy has also been involved with standards committees in the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG) organizations.  Specific committee involvement includes: IEEE 802.3ap (10 Gigabit Ethernet over Backplane); ATCA (Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture); MicroTCA; and ATCA300.  In addition, Jimmy chaired the “ATCA Design Options and Challenges” round-table discussion at the Communications Design Conference in 2004.

    Greg Caswell is widely recognized as a pioneer in surface mount technology (SMT) and has over 30 years of experience in the microelectronics industry.   He is currently assisting DfR Solutions in the expansion of reliability engineering support for their business.  In his last position as VP-Engineering for Reactive NanoTechnologies he led a team focused on the utilization of NanoFoil® for component mounting application in the CPV, Power Amplifier, LED and PWB market segments.  He has over 230 publications addressing  NanoTechnology CMOS, CMOS/SOS, input protection networks, surface mount technology and advanced packaging.  More recently, he has been heavily involved in facilitating the implementation of RoHS complaint and lead free manufacturing processes for customers.  Mr. Caswell, a Past President of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS), was the IMAPS Vice President in 1986 and the 1984 Centex Chapter President.  He was the National Chairman for the IMAPS sponsored Advanced Technology Workshop program from 1989-2000, which produced workshops each year on different aspects of current and emerging technologies. Most recently, he is still the Editor for the Americas for Advancing Microelectronics magazine and the Chair of the Global Business Council.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and also has a Bachelors in Management from St. Edwards University in Austin.
