    Water Car Redux

    By Mark L. Casey | September 12, 2008

Since I originally wrote a short piece on hydrogen fuel cells and the prospect of improving fuel efficiency with water, I have been reading as much as possible about it.

Each Friday I receive an email newsletter from Cecil Adams at The Straight Dope. Cecil and his staff answer hilarious and serious questions in a very entertaining way. Straight Dope’s slogan is:

Fighting Ignorance Since 1973 (it’s taking longer than we thought)

Today’s newsletter includes a question about hydrogen fuel cells, so I read his answer with great interest. You can read the question and answer here.

Cecil obviously believes the claims of hydrogen fuel cells and the conversion of water into Brown’s gas for the purpose of improving fuel economy is a scam. I mentioned this possibility in my original post.
